Montreal police investigating another vehicle on fire in Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough
Incident marks 3rd fire on de Louisbourg Street in 3 days
For the third time in three days, a vehicle has caught fire on de Louisbourg Street in Montreal's Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.
Montreal police say firefighters responded to a 911 call at around 1 a.m. on Monday reporting a burning vehicle near the corner of de Louisbourg and de Grenet streets.
Mariane Allaire Morin, a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), said when firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw a vehicle burning and that the fire had spread to the car parked behind it.
She said firefighters also located two other fires on de Grenet Street, including a garbage can.
Police haven't found any elements that suggest arson, Allaire-Morin said. However, given that two other vehicles were torched on the same street in the past couple of days, the investigation was transferred to the SPVM arson squad.
On Saturday, a vehicle was set on fire at the corner of de Louisbourg and de Tracy streets. Another vehicle was torched on de Louisbourg on Sunday.
Forensic experts are expected to inspect the site of the latest fire today.
The investigation of all three incidents are ongoing.
