The ducks and geese have been driven further ashore than normal at The Forks after several days of rain flooded the riverwalk along the Assiniboine River.

The city has put up barricades on the walkway until levels on the Assiniboine go down.

The riverwalk opened on May 20, only to be closed days later. The riverwalk is often flooded and not open for stretches during spring and summer. How to fix the problem has been discussed several times, including using the floodway.
