A Winnipeg man is charged with several sexual offences after two teens reported they were sexually assaulted in a men's change room at a fitness facility on Kimberly Avenue in the Elmwood-Kildonans area, police say.

A stranger approached the teens in a common area of the men's change room, exposed himself and sexually assaulted both of them on Friday, police said in a news release.

The teens confronted the man and told staff, who called police and they went to investigate around 10 p.m., the news release said.

The YMCA-YWCA confirmed to CBC in a statement Monday evening that two teens were assaulted at its Elmwood-Kildonan location, and that the person accused has been banned from all of its Winnipeg facilities.

The man has been charged with sexual interference, committing an indecent act and two counts of sexual assault.

Winnipeg police said the two teenage male victims were uninjured.

The man was released from custody with a court order prohibiting him from contact with anyone younger than 18.
