A new development is coming to Portage Avenue and Main Street, Winnipeg's iconic downtown intersection.
Artis REIT, a commercial real estate investment trust that owns the Shops of Winnipeg Square and the 360 Main office tower, among other properties, will unveil its plans on Thursday for a "significant new development" in the area.
The company said it also plans to conduct a "complete renewal of the existing curtain wall and environmental barrier" at 360 Main, a 30-storey tower that was built in 1979.
The projects at Portage and Main will total $165 million, Artis REIT stated in a media advisory.
Winnipeg Square includes retail shops and an underground pedestrian concourse linking several buildings at Portage and Main.
