Barry Thorgrimson leaving city after 40 years of service

Another high-ranking Winnipeg bureaucrat is leaving the city.

Barry Thorgrimson, the City of Winnipeg's director of planning, property and development, will retire in two weeks.

Thorgrimson has been with the city for 40 years. He was in charge of city development throughout the controversial fire hall land swap and the Forks water park proposal.

The city said it won't fill Thorgrimson's position until it first appoints a new CAO.
