Winnipeg ceremonies honour those injured, killed in workplace
City of Winnipeg workers gathered at the city hall courtyard Tuesday to honour the National Day of Mourning — a day that commemorates those killed or hurt in the workplace.

In respect of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WorkersMemorialDay?src=hash">#WorkersMemorialDay</a> flags will be lowered half-mast today at City Hall & around Winnipeg where possible.

There will be a number of other ceremonies at city work sites today, according to a press release issued by the city.
The National Day of Mourning was proclaimed by Canada's Parliament in 1991 and is recognized in more than 80 countries across the globe.
