The City of Winnipeg lifted its annual winter route parking ban on Wednesday, allowing people to resume parking on certain residential streets during overnight hours.

Under the annual ban that started Dec. 6 this winter, parking is prohibited on designated streets between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. and is not dependent on weather conditions.

Those who violate the ban could get a $100 ticket or $75 if they pay early and their vehicle could also be towed, the city said.

Winnipeg residents can find more information on winter parking bans through the Know Your Zone app, by contacting 311 and searching on the city's interactive snow map.
