Pedestrian taken to hospital in critical condition after being hit by bus: Winnipeg police

One person was taken to hospital Thursday evening in critical condition after being hit by a bus, Winnipeg police say. 

Officers notified of incident just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday

A pedestrian was taken to hospital in critical condition Thursday evening after being hit by a bus on Main Street, Winnipeg police say. 

They were notified about the collision, on Main between Logan and Higgins avenues, just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police told CBC.

They said the person wasn't crossing the street at a designated intersection, but weren't able to provide any other details about the collision. Police would not confirm details about the victim, such as their age or gender.

Northbound lanes of Main Street were still closed when CBC went to the collision scene around 7 p.m.
