Northern Manitoba expected to receive 10-15 centimetres of heavy snow
Low-pressure system expected to dump snow on northern areas Tuesday and Wednesday
Several parts of northern Manitoba are bracing for another brush of winter from Mother Nature.
Snowfall amounts in the range of 10-15 centimetres are expected through areas primarily north of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Winnipegosis on Tuesday, Environment Canada announced on Monday afternoon.
A low-pressure system moving across the Prairies will bring heavy snow to northern areas of the province on Tuesday, before tapering off on Wednesday.
The following communities are under the snowfall warning:
- Flin Flon.
- Cranberry Portage.
- Snow Lake.
- Gillam.
- Island Lake.
- Oxford House.
- Gods Lake.
- Lynn Lake.
- Leaf Rapids.
- Pukatawagan.
- Norway House.
- Cross Lake.
- Wabowden.
- Shamattawa.
- Thompson.
- Nelson House.
- Split Lake.
The national weather agency reminds residents to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some parts of northern Manitoba, with visibility potentially reduced at times due to heavy snow.
