Man dies in hit and run in northern Manitoba: Poplar River RCMP

A Poplar River First Nation man has died after he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene in the early morning hours on Thursday, police say.

A Poplar River First Nation man has died after he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene n the early morning hours on Thursday, police say.

Poplar River RCMP pronounced the man, 43, dead at the scene after responding to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Southside Road in the community, approximately 350 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

The RCMP continue to investigate the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information, or who may have witnessed this collision to call the Poplar River RCMP at 204-244-2745, or leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
