Boy, 16, dead after assault in Marcel Colomb First Nation, RCMP say

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of another teen in a northwestern Manitoba First Nation on Friday.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of another teen in a northwestern Manitoba First Nation on Friday. 

Lynn Lake RCMP responded to reports of an assault in progress outside a home around 1:55 a.m. in Marcel Colomb First Nation, near Lynn Lake, about 800 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

Officers who went to the home found a 16-year-old boy who was pronounced dead outside the residence, police said in a news release Friday.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and remains in police custody.

No charges have been laid so far. Lynn Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
