Big changes are in the works for CBC across the country

Some local TV supper hour news programs will be reduced to 60 or, in some cases, 30 minutes. At the same time, CBC is investing heavily in online and digital services with a focus on serving people on mobile devices.

CBC president and CEO Hubert Lacroix, who is leading the transformation, sat down with the CBC Information Radio host Marcy Markusa.

He said CBC has to balance its commitment to the more than 80 per cent of Canadians who still subscribe to traditional TV, while evolving to provide services to the growing number of Canadians who consume media on their smartphones and tablets.

He also assured Information Radio listeners that radio is still a priority.
