Woman arrested in connection with fatal Winnipeg house fire in 2021
Kendra Sinclair, 35, arrested for 2nd-degree murder in death of Faye Sanderson, 44
An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a woman in a Winnipeg house fire more than three years ago.
Fire crews found Faye Sanderson, 44, dead in a home on Young Street, between Sargent and Ellice avenues in the Spence neighbourhood, on Sept. 21, 2021, police previously said. The fire was believed to have been set intentionally and Sanderson's death was a homicide.
Police say a woman was arrested for second-degree murder in connection with Sanderson's death at a correctional facility in Edmonton, Alta., last week.
Kendra Sinclair, 35, was arrested on March 4 at the Edmonton Institution for Women. She remains in custody.
Sinclair and Sanderson knew each other, police said.
Sanderson was a member of Mosakahiken Cree Nation who was living in Winnipeg when she died.
