1 person found dead in home after fire in rural Manitoba
One person is dead after a Tuesday night fire at a home in the rural municipality of North Norfolk, southwest of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba RCMP say.

One person is dead after a fire at a home in rural Manitoba Tuesday night, RCMP say.
Portage la Prairie RCMP were called just before 8 p.m. with a report of a fire at a home off Provincial Road 352, west of Highway 34, in the rural municipality of North Norfolk, about 50 kilometres southwest of Portage la Prairie.
Once the fire was under control, firefighters from the local fire department entered the home and found the remains of one person, RCMP said in a Wednesday news release.
RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Paul Manaigre told CBC police are waiting on the results of an autopsy to confirm the person's identity.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
