Classes were cancelled at eight schools in northern Manitoba on Wednesday afternoon due to bomb threats, RCMP say.
A threat was made via email to R.D. Parker Collegiate in Thompson, claiming multiple bombs were placed around multiple schools, police said. They received the report at approximately 10:45 a.m.
As a precaution, Mounties searched eight schools in the Thompson area, and classes were cancelled in all those schools for the afternoon.
The schools were contacted early in the afternoon and advised that there is no need for further concern, and classes can resume Thursday morning, RCMP said.
They are continuing to investigate.
