2 charged in Dustin McKay death, Winnipeg's first homicide of 2015

Two men are in custody following the Jan. 23 death of 22-year-old Dustin McKay, Winnipeg's first homicide of the year.
According to Winnipeg police, McKay and a 28-year-old man got into a fight on the roadway around Isabel Street and Pacific Avenue about 11:20 p.m. and McKay was knocked unconscious.
He was reportedly left lying in the southbound lanes of Isabel street when the 28-year-old took off with a woman in a vehicle.
Police say a short time later a separate vehicle hit McKay. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.
A 50-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving causing death. and drive with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood causing death.
The 28-year-old has been charged with manslaughter, along with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply.
