Young boy in hospital fighting for life after crash on Longwoods Road
Longwoods Road was closed for a period of time
A young boy is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash late Monday afternoon just south of London.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash in the area of Longwoods and Murray roads shortly before 4 p.m. A pedestrian was involved, according to police.
Police said all involved parties remained at the scene. The identity and age of the boy has not been released.
Longwoods Road was closed between Colonel Talbot and Kilbourne roads for a period of time, but have since reopened.
London police are asking anyone who may have dash-cam footage or video surveillance in the area of Longwoods Road near Murray Road between 3:45 to 4:05 p.m., or information that may assist with the investigation, to contact them.
Several neighbours who live in the area told CBC News the stretch of Longwoods Road near Murray Road is a common cause for concern, with several collisions in the area.
The police's traffic management unit is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
