Suspect vehicle photos released by police as search continues for Victoria Hospital ER shooter
Vehicle described as 4-door silver or grey sedan, possibly a Hyundai Sonata
London police released photos Monday of a vehicle whose occupant they believe could be involved in a dramatic weekend shooting outside the city's busiest emergency room.
In releasing the photos, it's hoped members of the public can help police identify the vehicle, the driver or any occupants.
At around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, a pickup truck pulled into the Victoria Hospital ER bay, smashing into a cement pillar. Shortly after, the vehicle police believe is in the photos arrived and shots rang out, police said.
A man was admitted to hospital with bullet wounds and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police still won't say if he sustained the injuries outside the ER or at a location about five kilometres away, where police say an altercation happened between the victim and the suspect.
The victim was released from hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Following the incident, London Health Sciences Centre supervisor David Musyj said weapon detectors will soon be installed at the ER doors.
In Monday's appeal to the public for information, police said they believed the suspect's vehicle is a four-door silver or grey sedan, possibly a Hyundai Sonata.
They also asked members of the public to contact them if they have dash-cam footage or video surveillance from the area of White Oak and Southdale roads, or the area of Commissioners and Wellington roads between 2:10 to 2:35 a.m., on Saturday.
Police are also seeking any information that may assist with the investigation.
People information or footage are asked to call the London Police Service or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
