Pedestrian struck and killed by car in west London, driver arrested
Police were called to the area of Oxford Street West near Laurel Street around 11 p.m.
A London man has been arrested following a fatal crash that killed a male pedestrian in the city's west end late Tuesday night.
London Police say they were called to the area of Oxford Street West near Laurel Street at around 11 p.m. for a hit-and-run that involved a pedestrian.
A description of the suspected vehicle was given to officers, police said.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found a man suffering from significant injuries. He was taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he later died of those injuries.
Police say they learned that the crash happened around Oxford Street West near Hyde Park Road.
A suspect was taken into custody shortly after midnight.
Police say they won't release information about the victim until his identity has been confirmed and his next of kin have been notified. The traffic management unit is investigating the crash.
