3 songs from London Morning to boost your playlist
London Morning's Ryan Soulliere has 3 hot music picks from this week's shows
London Morning's associate producer, Ryan Soulliere, listens to a lot of music for his role, picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. Here are his top three local and Canadian picks from last week.
Shanuka - Rush (featuring Benita)
For a mellow jam that explores the backbeat, look no further than Shanuka's Rush featuring Benita. From Shanuka's 2024 album A Safe Return, Rush is a perfect song for unwinding or starting your day. Although Rush has some dreamy vocals, it is not a sleepy tune. In fact, it has some undeniable groove that will have you tapping your toes while sipping your favourite morning beverage.
Art D'ecco - The Traveller
Every good playlist needs a track with some get-up and go, and that's what you'll get form Art D'Ecco's The Traveller. Fast, but not too fast, upbeat yet not in-your-face, the catchy tune and smooth vocals help The Traveller feel at home on a variety of playlists. Definitely try this one on a party mix or when it's time to get things done - it's a mood motivator.
Mélissa Laveaux & Roseaux - Why Should I Smile
Who doesn't love a great team-up? Mélissa Laveaux's voice, combined with a sonic bed from the French music project Roseaux, is musical magic in the single Why Should I Smile. The strings on Why Should I Smile are superb and perfectly set the tone of this beautiful and mellow track. The vocals are soft yet strong and really pull you in. Try Why Should I Smile on just about any playlist, it's a keeper.
