Many new faces elected to Waterloo Catholic District School Board and more to come next month
Results from Cambridge-North Dumfries expected next month
With just one person seeking re-election in Monday's municipal election, many new people have won races to become Waterloo Catholic District School Board trustees.
The only incumbent in the race, Tracey Weiler, was re-elected to represent Kitchener-Wilmot.
But not all trustees were elected Monday night. The clerk in Cambridge announced over the weekend the votes for Catholic school board trustees would be voided because it was discovered two candidates were left off the ballot for the Cambridge-North Dumfries trustees.
Results in North Dumfries have been sealed and won't be released until Cambridge can complete a new vote for the trustee positions. A date has not been set for that election, but it is anticipated to take place in November.
Kitchener-Wilmot
In Kitchener-Wilmot, the four trustees elected were:
- Tracey Weiler.
- Kathy Doherty-Masters.
- Wendy Ashby.
- Renée Kraft.
Waterloo-Wellesley-Woolwich
In Waterloo-Wellesley-Woolwich, the two trustees elected were:
- Linda Cuff.
- Sally Fuentes.
The inaugural meeting of the new board of trustees had been scheduled for Nov. 21. It's unclear when that will take place.
