Kitchener man's body recovered from Peterborough-area lake

The body of Brian Tilbury, 47, of Kitchener was pulled from Belmont Lake east of Peterborough on Sunday after he went missing while ice fishing on Saturday.

The body of Brian Tilbury of Kitchener has been recovered from Belmont Lake near Peterborough.

Tilbury, 47, was last seen on the lake ice-fishing between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday.

A body was later discovered in the lake, east of Peterborough, by the OPP using a helicopter and recovered by the Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire Department.

Tibury's body has been taken to the coroner in Toronto for a post mortem.

Peterborough County OPP say his death remains under investigation.

In Facebook posts, friends and family remembered Tilbury as someone who loved being outdoors and enjoyed sharing that with others.
