Teen driver charged in Guelph crash between school bus and 3 cars
Police say two people received minor injuries in the four-vehicle crash on Willow Rd.
A 17-year-old boy from Guelph has been charged after a collision between a school bus and three cars on Willow Road, east of Silvercreek Parkway on Tuesday.
Police say the school bus was stopping to pick passengers when it was struck in the rear left corner by an Acura that was trying to pass.
The Acura then rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup. Police say the force of the crash sent the pickup into the oncoming lanes where it struck a Malibu head-on.
Officers closed Willow road for about an hour on Tuesday morning to investigate the crash.
Police say there minor injuries to the driver of the Malibu and one passenger aboard the school bus, while damage to the four vehicles is estimated at $25,000.
The 17-year-old driver of the Acura has been charged with making an unsafe lane change under the provincial Highway Traffic Act.
