Police continue to investigate after reports of a person hanging out of a car and screaming in a parking lot in the Highland Road West and Ira Needles Boulevard area of Kitchener on Friday evening.

Waterloo region and area enters 3rd day of deep freeze

The federal weather agency issued an extreme cold warning on Monday morning that is expected to stay up through Wednesday morning. Environment Canada is asking residents of Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County to wear layers and stay out of the cold.

New overnight warming centre set to open in Kitchener on Friday

The new overnight warming center is located at 298 Lawrence Ave. in Kitchener. It will start with a 20-person capacity and the region says they hope to be able to add more space soon.

Ontario teen sells copies of his 1st cookbook so family can buy new van to fit his wheelchair

John Ray of Kenilworth, Ont., has congenital muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair to get around. He also needs a special van so his family can drive him to important appointments far from where they live, but it's been breaking down more frequently. The 15-year-old hopes to raise money for a new van, by selling his first cookbook.

Man dead after being hit by bus in downtown Guelph

The man was crossing a street in the downtown area when he was struck by a bus. Guelph Police are asking anyone with information to contact them. The city has confirmed it was a city staff person who died.

5 high-end vehicles stolen from Kitchener recovered by police

In a joint investigation with Hamilton Police Service, members of the break, enter and vehicle theft team from the Waterloo Region Police Service have recovered 20 stolen high-end vehicles. Five were originally stolen from Kitchener.

Faculty strike deadline creates uncertainty for Conestoga College

If the faculty union and the council representing Ontario's public colleges does not come to an agreement on Tuesday, there will be a strike at all 24 public colleges, including Conestoga College.
