Police have released video of an attempted murder at a central Hamilton bar that left a man with a gunshot wound to his head.
A series of three videos from the night the shooting happened show a group of people crowded around the front door of the bar when suddenly one man suddenly draws a weapon and pull the trigger, appearing to hit another man at close range.
The crowd breaks up when the shot is fired and several people throwing punches at each other before running away.
Officers were called to Sheila's Place on King Street East around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of a shooting and say they found a 24-year-old man with an injured head.
He was taken to hospital and police say he's in stable condition.
CAUTION: Some may find this video disturbing.
Investigators are searching for a black man age 20-30 who was wearing a white, hooded jacket, light-coloured pants, dark shoes and carrying a black satchel.
After firing, one of the video shows the suspect flipping up his hood and walking away from the scene slowly. Police say he was last seen running north on East Avenue.
Police also say witnesses are not cooperating so they're asking anyone who saw the shooting to contact them.
