Police to share more information about death of Hamilton man shot outside his home

On the morning of Dec. 6, 2019, while leaving for work, 39-year-old Jeffrey Johnson was shot to death. 

Thursday at 10 a.m. Hamilton police say they will have more information to share following the investigation into his death.

In the days after Johnson's death, police said the shooting was "deliberate." 

Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk said that when Johnson was shot, his family, including two young children, was at home. He said that Johnson's wife and a neighbour found him around 6:30 a.m. lying on West 4th street in front of his house. Johnson was taken to hospital and pronounced dead soon after.

Johnson's death was the 43rd shooting incident of the year for Hamilton, which is the highest number in at least eight years, and the 13th homicide of 2019.
