Environment Canada's travel advisory, issued Wednesday, for Hamilton, the Niagara Region, Brantford and Burlington, has ended.

While drivers still need to be careful, the weather agency warned, yesterday, that snow would fall "with accumulations of two to four cm" and there would be reduced visibility at times in the snow.

Environment Canada said the winter weather was a result of a low pressure system that brought snow to the area Wednesday.

Drivers were warned to "expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly."

Environment Canada says it's better to avoid travel if possible in these types of conditions. If you can't do that, "take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas."

OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said, in a video posted to X on Wednesday, that drivers should "drive according to the road and weather conditions... and turn on your entire headlighting system." Sanchuk said the 403 and 401 highways were already "slick" yesterday morning.
