Life, death, and drama at 20,000 feet, SKYMED is a drama wrapped in high-stakes medical adventure. The series weaves compelling stories around a diverse ensemble of young First Responders in the remote North, where help – and survival – are literally thousands of miles away. Over the course of the season, the trials, triumphs, hookups and heartbreaks of a perilous job in an unforgiving setting will challenge each of them to face their fears and grow up.
After Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick (longtime CBC favourite Allan Hawco) digs too deeply into a local politician's nefarious activity, he is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon (the French Territory nestled in the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Newfoundland). Fitz's arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève "Arch" Archambault (Josephine Jobert), a Parisian transplant who is in Saint-Pierre for her own intriguing reasons. As if by fate, these two seasoned officers — with very different policing skills and approaches — are forced together to solve unique and exciting crimes.
Siaja (Anna Lambe) is a young Inuk mother who dreams of reinventing herself in her tiny Arctic community of Ice Cove, a town where everybody knows your business. After a spontaneous — and extremely public — exit from her marriage, Siaja finds herself navigating the unpredictable, and often hilarious, highs and lows that come with relationships, motherhood, a new job, and finding your way.
Season four is all about passion. From Mark's (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) relentless pursuit of his creative dreams to his burgeoning romance with Fox (Sophia Powers), he devotedly navigates a quickly growing world. It's a world filled with new promise, potential and love. And he won't be alone. Every member of his household will also be chasing something greater.
Season One's cliffhanger found Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) about to arrest Max (Vanessa Morgan) for her heist of a 33 million dollar jewel, but his feelings of betrayal are sidelined by a bombshell revelation from Max: she's learned the identity of his brother's murderer. Season Two raises the stakes for our duo both in terms of the cases they're tasked to solve in each episode and their feelings for each other.
