Police believe two men broke into a home in the Northwood Estates mobile home park June 23 at about 11 a.m.
They "ransacked" the front area of the home in the process of loading the safe into a white Ford truck, believed to be an F-150 crew cab, police say.
The safe contained:
- Winchester 30-30 rifle, Model 94
- Harrington and Richardson (H&R) Targeteer .22 rifle, Model 265
- Stevens 12 gauge rifle
- Enfield British Mk .303 rifle
- Enfield P14 .303 rifle
- Hundreds of rounds of ammunition
They returned to the home about an hour later and allegedly stole a filing cabinet.
Police want to talk with anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the truck afterwards. Witnesses can contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575 and Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
