A woman charged in the death of a Calgary toddler has been released from custody.

Sonya Pasqua was charged with manslaughter, as was Michael Sinclair, in the death of 18-month-old Gabriel Sinclair-Pasqua in 2021.

Emergency crews were called to a Calgary home in October 2021 for reports of toddler in medical distress.

Police say the boy was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

Pasqua was released on $2,500 bail and a $1,000 surety.

She also faces a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and is not allowed to be in the vicinity of children under the age of 12.

Pasqua and Sinclair are both scheduled to return to court March 8.
