C-Trains collide with pedestrian, truck and platform in 3 separate crashes
A man in his 20s was injured after being hit by a C-Train on Thursday evening.
EMS says he was hit on the tracks at the City Hall Station on Macleod Trail and Seventh Avenue southeast.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police say his condition has since improved.
Service was also disrupted around 9 p.m. MT when a C-Train collided with the City Hall platform.
Calgary Transit deployed shuttle buses for transit riders — including for Calgary Flames fans looking to take the train home from the game.
The C-Train was being operated manually at a slow speed when it went off the tracks. Calgary Transit director Doug Morgan says it happened at a switch that splits the northeast line from the south line.
"Luckily no passengers were injured, so everyone got off safely, and nobody on the platform was injured," he said.
Truck collision
A truck and C-Train also collided earlier on Thursday at Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street S.W.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision. The truck was badly damaged, but no one was hurt.
