Police investigate possible hate crime against transgender woman on C-Train
Victim was riding a southbound C-Train from downtown on Oct. 27
Calgary police are looking for information about what they are calling a hate crime against a transgender woman.
She was on a southbound C-Train from the downtown on Oct. 27 when a man verbally abused and assaulted her, police said in a release.
It's believed the offender became abusive toward the transgender woman because of her gender identity. The Calgary Police Service's hate crimes co-ordinator is investigating.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.
Police are particularly looking to speak with two witnesses who are seen in surveillance video appearing to have an interaction with the man on the C-Train platform.
The suspect is white with short, sandy-coloured hair and a few days' growth of facial hair.
He was wearing dark-coloured jeans and a T-shirt and might have a neck tattoo.
