3 Port Alberni men charged with sex offences against minors, RCMP say
Police say one of the men also faces charges of human trafficking
RCMP say multiple charges have been approved against three Vancouver Island men accused of sexual offences against minors.
Shaun Pater, Terrance Houbregs and Wayne Moore of Port Alberni, B.C., each face six charges, including sexual interference of a person under 14 and sexual assault, police say.
Pater faces an additional nine charges, including trafficking in persons under the age of 18.
The charges stem from a Port Alberni RCMP investigation that began in 2020.
The men are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 5.
RCMP say they have also been ordered to follow a number of conditions, including not to communicate with or be in the presence of anyone under the age of 16. They must also stay away from daycares, schools and playgrounds as well as any public park, swimming area, community centre or theatre where persons under the age of 16 are known to be present.
