Four people were attacked and bitten by a coyote in a popular Prince George, B.C. park on Tuesday morning.

The B.C. Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) says all four attacks happened between 3:45 a.m. PT and 4:30 a.m. PT, on Sept. 26 near Connaught Hill and Parkwood. Three of the four injured were taken to hospital. All four of those attacked are homeless, the BCCOS says.

According to the City, Connaught Hill Park is closed Tuesday.

The BCCOS believes one single coyote is responsible for all four attacks, but says there are other "aggressive" coyotes in the area.

Conservation officers are still investigating.

Last week, a coyote was killed by conservation officers in Mission, B.C., after an increase in coyote attacks; nine attacks were reported over five days.

In June, a woman was bitten by a coyote in Prince George while gardening in the Hart neighbourhood.

And in 2021, people were urged to avoid Stanley Park after a string of coyote attacks, prompting a coyote cull that resulted in four coyotes being killed.

The BCCOS asks that anyone who witnesses a coyote conflict or the unlawful feeding of dangerous wildlife to report it by calling 1-877-952-7277.
