Here is a selection of what is happening tonight as people bid farewell to 2015 across the province.
1. A roaring 20s 'house party'
Party-goers in Victoria can celebrate the new year at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel, where staff are putting on a roaring-20s themed night in an English manor house. Local musicians, including a swing band, will provide live music throughout the evening
Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are $160 per person.
2. Welcoming the new year on a mountain
Those looking for a change in scenery can head to Sun Peaks Resort, a 45-minute drive from Kamloops.
Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. with an aerial performance by skiers and snowboarders. Other activities include a glow stick parade for children, a downhill torch parade for anyone older than 14 years old. People can register for the parades at Sun Peaks until 7:00 p.m.
After the parade, there will be fireworks from the to of the hill at 8:30 p.m.
3. Celebrating with laughs
Improv fans in Vancouver can celebrate with three shows tonight with the Vancouver TheatreSports League at Granville Island.
Brian Anderson is hosting tonight's shows, which will look at the stand-out events of 2015.
The New Years Eve reception at 11:15 p.m. is sold out but tickets are still available for the 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. shows.
