Girl, 7, with possible GHB overdose released from care
A seven-year-old Langley, B.C., girl who is believed to have overdosed on a date rape drug on Saturday was released from hospital Monday as police continue their investigation.
Police are speaking with people who may have information about the circumstances of the incident in which the girl may have drunk some water from a bottle suspected of containing the drug GHB, said RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks.
The girl is expected to make a full recovery.
There are no results yet from toxicology tests, so police are not able to confirm the child ingested GHB, Marks said.
Police have conducted preliminary interviews of the adults at the home where the incident occurred.
Marks said the girl was unconscious when an ambulance arrived at her home on Saturday but she is expected to make a full recovery.
The Children's Ministry has been advised and is expected to look into the incident.
Police have not yet determined if charges will be recommended.
