Less than 10 days ago, the Vancouver Police Department issued a public warning that convicted sex offender Cameron Eugene Ratelle was living in a halfway house in Vancouver.
On Wednesday, Ratelle, 38, was arrested for breaching a non-violent condition of his long-term supervision order and is in custody.
He has previously been convicted of sexual assault involving a minor as well as convictions involving university students in Ontario.
Police said he poses a "risk of significant harm" to the safety of young women. They were advised May 15 that Ratelle would be living in a halfway house in Vancouver.
The VPD said it was prudent to issue a public warning because the Correctional Service of Canada says Ratelle is a moderate to high risk for violent and sexual re-offending.
