Which song should be No. 1 in B.C. this holiday season?
In the tradition of the U.K. chart race for the No. 1 song on Christmas Day, CBC's The Early Edition is asking you to cast your vote for which song you think deserves the title this holiday season.
CBC's The Early Edition is taking your votes
Every year in the U.K., artists compete to have the No. 1 song on the charts on Christmas Day.
And they don't have to be Christmas songs: past winners include Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine.
Being on top of the charts can be a major boost for both up-and-coming and established artists — if you've ever seen Love, Actually, you have a sense of what the competition can look like.
In the spirit of that UK race, CBC's The Early Edition has launched a No. 1 Holiday Song contest.
After taking nominations from listeners, the competition has been whittled down to 10 finalists.
You can listen to the songs and vote for your favourite below.
