The RCMP have scheduled a disciplinary hearing for an Osoyoos officer at the centre of a lawsuit brought by a former resident who claims he was harassed by the force.

The conduct hearing for Const. Amit Goyal is scheduled for March 8 in Vancouver. It's the third time the RCMP have re-scheduled the hearing.

Goyal had been working at the Osoyoos detachment, but he suddenly left in the fall of 2013.

RCMP have repeatedly refused to comment on the situation, but have confirmed Goyal is suspended with pay.

Last year Steven Condon, a former Osoyoos resident, filed a civil lawsuit against Goyal and the RCMP. He claims he had to flee the Okanagan because of police harassment.

Condon alleges Goyal tried to frame him for stealing and burning two vehicles. He also claims he was interrogated on two occasions by the RCMP and had to take a lie detector test to help prove his innocence.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
