Local police say changing temperatures and unpredictable ice conditions have made lake ice very dangerous and they're urging the public to stay off all frozen lakes in the area. 

The B.C. River Forecast Centre says that a historically dry January in many parts of B.C. means snowpack levels across the province were lower in February than at the start of the year.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned U.S. Vice-President J.D. Vance that punishing tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum will hurt his home state of Ohio, a senior Canadian official said. 

B.C.’s Interior is well into the depths of winter, and Wally Taylor and his friends were nearly buried by a wall of snow near Sicamous last week. As Tom Popyk reports, so far skiers and snowmobilers in the Interior have largely been spared the danger of avalanches this season
