Canada says yes to the dress with Kleinfeld deal
Hudson's Bay Company has signed a deal to bring the bridal boutique behind the hit wedding show Say Yes To The Dress to Canada.
Next year, the retailer will host a location of Kleinfeld Bridal in its flagship Toronto store. That's the New York-based chain where, on the TLC television show, brides go to pick out dresses based on their own specifications, with stressed out bridesmaids and a film crew in tow to document the entire process.
HBC's flagship Toronto store on Queen Street will be home to a 20,000-square-foot Kleinfeld boutique starting some time in 2014.
"Brides will now have access to expert bridal consultants and the same scope and breadth of designer gowns available at the New York Store," HBC said in a release.
The deal cements the Bay as one of the leaders in the lucrative wedding industry. Canadians spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually on weddings, a trend that the Bay profits from in a big way due to its leadership of the wedding industry space.
Kleinfeld's bridal offerings will be seamlessly included in the Bay's popular wedding registry program, both companies say.
