How to tune in to the 2023 Polaris Music Prize short list announcement
Find out which 10 albums will be vying for the title of best Canadian album of the year
The Polaris Music Prize short list has been decided, and this Thursday we will reveal the top 10 albums vying for the title of best Canadian album of the year.
Last month, the Polaris Music Prize announced its annual long list of 40 albums as voted by a panel of 205 Canadian jurors (including several CBC Music producers). That list included albums by Jessie Reyez, Feist, Daniel Caesar and U.S. Girls alongside newcomers like Aysanabee, Mariel Buckley and Nico Paulo. See the full list here.
To find out who made it onto this year's short list, tune in to the Polaris Music Prize Short List Special on Thursday, July 13 on CBC Music at 3 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. During this two-hour program, CBC Music's Drive host Rich Terfry will take listeners through each album nominated for the grand prize, with commentary from various Polaris jurors.
The 2023 Polaris Music Prize winner will be announced on Sept. 19 at a live event taking place at Toronto's Massey Hall.
