Kingston and the Islands voters have stayed on a familiar path with the Liberals and candidate Ted Hsu.
Hsu earned about 3,200 more votes than the second-place NDP candidate to swing the seat in the 2022 election. The Liberals had previously held the riding since 1995.
The projected winner has a PhD in physics from Princeton, and worked in finance and sustainable energy before serving as MP for the area from 2011 to 2015.
Six candidates ran for the seat.
This riding contains the City of Kingston south of Highway 401, and Howe and Wolfe islands.
