Becky is a communications advisor and fitness enthusiast from Ottawa, Ontario, who trains hard everywhere she goes — from the gym to the soccer field. Her inspiration comes from her mother, who immigrated to Canada from India at 23, completely on her own. Becky carries that legacy of courage and perseverance into everything she does.
What's driving you to take on Canada's Ultimate Challenge?
I wanted to push myself and see what I was capable of. All of the challenges from previous seasons looked so fun and intense, that I had to give it a try.
What unique skills will set you apart from the competition?
Being a beast. I am one of the most well-rounded women there because of the multiple skills I have; my strength, speed, agility, will power. I also know how to lift my team up when the challenges get hard.
How did you gear up for Canada's Ultimate Challenge?
I trained REALLY hard. From the moment I submitted my application video, I was running and swimming multiple times a week, doing strength training, biking, doing dead hangs every single workout and doing puzzles.
I was also working out without listening to music to get my mind ready and reading Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins, which is all about building a strong mind.
What do you fear the most in the competition?
I was most scared to be eliminated first.
What's the toughest thing life has thrown you and how did it prepare you for this challenge?
My dad had a heart attack a few years ago and watching him almost die and recover from a triple bypass surgery was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Watching the people you love go through pain and discomfort is difficult.
Who is your favourite player from past seasons?
Jenny because she's amazing and she's orange and it would be iconic if Jenny and Becky could do a season together. JUST SAYING.
What's a random fact that people would be shocked to learn about you?
I have a toe thumb and I am really shy at first.
Canada's Ultimate Challenge comes to CBC Gem on Thursday, March 6.
