What's driving you to take on Canada's Ultimate Challenge?

I love competition and travel and any chance I can get to showcase my skills. I am always ready to show up and show out.
When I heard about Canada's Ultimate Challenge, I knew this would bring me face-to-face with some of Canada's fiercest competitors, beautiful sites and the opportunity to show the kids that I work with that opportunity comes knocking no matter who you are.

What unique skills will set you apart from the competition?

My unique skill is that I can read and see through people's facades, making it easier to decipher their true intentions.

How did you gear up for Canada's Ultimate Challenge?

When you sign up for a competition that has you travelling all across Canada and testing your physical and mental fortitude you can't go in unprepared.
While waiting to hear whether I made it or not, I increased the intensity of my strength and conditioning training to make sure there was no physical challenge I couldn't compete. I completed as many logic puzzles as possible to sharpen my mind and did daily meditation to increase my mental strength.

What do you fear the most in the competition?

My biggest fear was that we would have to jump into deep murky water. I hate not knowing what's at the bottom

What's the toughest thing life has thrown you and how did it prepare you for this challenge?

Life is always full of challenges. I remember moving across the world, coming to Canada and having to adjust to a whole new way of life. I remember seeing my parents separate and having to become a parent at a young age. I remember tearing my ACL and having to work through not being independent.
Each of these struggles taught me the strength that comes from adaptability and having a strong support network. Moving into this competition, I know there will be lots of change, so I am prepared for whatever comes my way.
I also know this is a team competition and I had amazing people helping me along the way. The ability to work with other people combined with my adaptability will make it so that no matter who I am with or what comes our way, we will take it head on and come out successful.

What's a random fact that people would be shocked to learn about you?

I am the oldest of seven sisters and two brothers.
Canada's Ultimate Challenge comes to CBC Gem on Thursday, February 27.
