The RCMP say they are investigating a suspicious death in Kings County.

According to an RCMP release, Kings District RCMP, Kenvtille Volunteer Fire Department and EHS&nbsp;responded to a report of a structure fire on Anthony Avenue in Centreville&nbsp;at 3 a.m. Saturday.

First responders arrived to find a home engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished, one person was found dead inside the home.

Police say in the release they are treating the death and the fire as&nbsp;suspicious.

An investigation is being led by the Southwest Nova RCMP&nbsp;major crime unit.&nbsp;

Houston government reaffirms commitment to free parking at hospitals, but has no timeline

During the recent provincial election, all three main political parties pledged to make parking at health-care facilities free. The Progressive Conservatives, who won the election, have not said when they will make good on the promise.

QEII Halifax Infirmary emergency department resumes operations

A partial power outage on Friday night led to a temporary service disruption.

SINs compromised in cybersecurity breach of PowerSchool  in Cape Breton-Victoria region

The Nova Scotia government says an investigation into a cybersecurity breach of PowerSchool, a widely used student information system, revealed that social insurance numbers of about 250 staff  in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education have been compromised. 

The PEI Teachers Federation says teachers and administrators are now dealing with additional pressure of a new software system.  "We don't want it to become a big stress, and I think it has been," said President Aldene Smallman.

Nova Scotia officials say they were alerted Wednesday afternoon that personal information of some staff and students in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education was stolen as part of a global cybersecurity breach.
