The QEII emergency department at the Halifax Infirmary has resumed regular operations after a partial power outage on Friday night.

Earlier on Friday, Nova Scotia Health said the emergency department was&nbsp;only accepting patients with life-threatening emergencies.

In an update later on Friday night, Nova Scotia Health said normal operations had&nbsp;resumed.

Woman convicted in murder of Loretta Saunders loses leave privileges

The woman convicted in the 2014 murder of Loretta Saunders in Halifax has lost the right to leave prison unescorted. Victoria Lea Henneberry, 39, is serving a life sentence for second-degree murder for the killing of Saunders, a young Inuk woman from Labrador.

Clark's Harbour man faces 48 new charges after firearm pointed at police officer

A Clark's Harbour, N.S., man has been charged with dozens of offences in connection with violent incidents over several days, including pointing a firearm at a police officer.

N.S. announces new emergency department, dialysis unit for Cumberland County

Work is set to begin on an expanded emergency department and a new renal dialysis unit at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre near Amherst, N.S., that are expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
