Canada Reads took place on March 28-31. The debates were hosted by Ali Hassan and broadcast on CBC Radio One, CBC TV, CBC Gem and on CBC Books.

Malia Baker is a Canadian actress and activist. She is most recognizable for her performance in Netflix's hit series The Baby-Sitter's Club, where she brought to life the most relatable character of the bestselling book series, Mary Anne Spier. Baker can soon be seen as a lead in Lifetime's film Caught in His Web, executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg, and the dramedy Harvest Moon, starring alongside Paul Bettany, Carmen Ejogo, and Candice Bergen, with Mark Waters directing.

When not filming, Malia spends time with family, immersing herself in her love of music and books, or using her platform to inspire and empower young girls to use their voices for change and equality.
