A 30-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to hurt himself with a knife in Saskatoon.

On Tuesday afternoon, a patrol officer saw a man wanted by police riding a bike on the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive. When the man refused to stop, police chased him to a nearby pedestrian tunnel near Circle Drive.

Saskatoon police say a man was Tasered after he allegedly tried to take an officer's gun.

About 568 Taser X-26s and X-2s have been issued to members of the Toronto Police Service. A report submitted to the Police Services Board claims there have been no deaths and few injuries related to their use in 2016.

Taser fails, but Saskatoon police track suspect down

Police in Saskatoon had a challenging arrest this morning as they attempted but failed to subdue an uncooperative suspect with a Taser.

Police in Saskatoon tried to use a Taser to subdue a man who had become combative, but it failed, and the suspect was able to run off. He was later tracked down and arrested.

When the man stopped, he took out a knife and said he would harm himself.&nbsp;

Officers then used a Taser on the man and arrested him.

The man was taken&nbsp;to hospital as a precaution.

As with all incidents where Saskatoon police use a Taser, the incident will be reviewed.
