Man Tasered after trying to take officer's gun: Saskatoon police

Man was in custody and being transferred to see a Justice of the Peace

Saskatoon police say a man was Tasered by police after he allegedly tried to take an officer's gun while in custody early Monday morning.
The man was in a detention centre and was being transferred from a cell to an area where he would see a Justice of the Peace when the incident occurred, according to a police news release.
Police say the man lunged at the officer in an attempt to grab the gun and an altercation ensued. A second officer Tasered the man and cuffed him.
The man was taken to hospital as a precaution. None of the officers involved were injured.
Police will review the incident, as per policy.
